Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the ILO, you must:

Be enrolled as a high-school student at the time of registration

Be able to understand, communicate, and complete exams in English

How To Register

The registration process for the International Logic Olympiad (ILO) is simple and straightforward. Only requiring 2 steps to be fully registered:

Step 1: Create an Account

Participants from grades 8 to 12 must first create an account on our platform. Upon completing the sign-up, you will receive an email to verify your address. Verification is required to proceed with the next steps. Please note that creating an account does not automatically register you for the competition.

Step 2: Payment

After verifying your email, you can log in to the testing portal tocomplete your payment and finalize your registration for the Olympiad. On the day of Round 1 Exam (March 8th), you will gain access to team formation.

Team Formation

You may participate in the ILO Preliminary Rounds as an individual or a team. However, you MUST be a registered in a team before the Team Formation deadline closes on April 28th.

Teams can consists of 2-4 participants. You’ll be able to add or drop teammates until April 28th, which is 48 hours after the final Preliminary Round 3 exam. Be sure to finalize your team by this deadline!

When scores are counted before the Final Round, teams will have all their members' scores, across all three rounds, averaged to determine the team's score.

Please follow these steps to ensure your team formation is complete:

Step 1: Create a Team (Access Available on March 8th):

The team leader (individual responsible for creating the team) must first log into their account and create a team.

Step 2: Invite Teammates:

After the team is created, the team leader can invite teammates by sending invitations to the email addresses participants used to sign up.

Step 3: Accept or Decline Invitations:

Invited teammates will receive an email invitation, which they can accept or decline.

Step 4: Finalize Team (Deadline April 28th):

Continue to manage your team by adding or dropping teammates until the deadline (April 28th).

May 4th: Finalists Announced

First Week of July: Final round at Stanford University

Registration Fee

Please note that participation in the International Logic Olympiad requires a 100$ registration fee.

Financial Aid

Who is Eligible?

We believe that financial limitations should not hinder anyone from participating in the ILO. Therefore, financial aid is available for students who qualify. Students whose family income is less than $20,000 annually can apply for financial aid. To apply, participants must complete a financial aid application form and provide supporting documentation, such as tax returns or pay stubs, proving the family’s financial situation. Applications for financial aid are open until February 17th, 2025 (11:59pm PST) , and decisions will be communicated to applicants by February 21st, 2025.

  • All documents must be submitted before the deadline, which will be communicated on the website and through email notifications.

What Financial Aid Covers

The financial aid only applies to the $100 registration fee. Please note that it does not cover other expenses.

Applications will be reviewed, and you will be notified of the outcome before the registration deadline by February 21st, 2025. Our goal is to ensure that all eligible students have the opportunity to participate in the ILO without financial barriers.
