Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the ILO, you must:

  • Be enrolled as a high-school student at the time of registration (US Grades 9-12)
  • Be between the ages of 14-18 by January 1st 2027
  • Be able to understand, communicate, and complete exams in English

How To Register

Registering for the International Logic Olympiad (ILO) is simple and takes 5 steps.

Step 1: Create an Account

  • Create an account on our testing portal. After signing up, you'll receive an email to verify your address. Verification is required to proceed with the next steps.
  • Creating an account does not automatically register you for the competition.
  • Financial Aid applicants: after creating your account, do not continue to Step 2. Instead, complete the separate Financial Aid application form and follow the instructions provided there.

Step 2: Register for Your Division

  • Select the correct division based on your eligibility (see above). You'll be asked to confirm your age and school grade as part of this step.

Step 3: Pick Testing Location

  • Select your residence location from the provided list for the Preliminary Round Exam. After payment, this location goes through a verification process, so please choose carefully.

Step 4: Upload Identification

  • Upload a valid form of identification confirming your name, birthdate, school name, and current grade. Because these details are used to verify your eligibility and testing location, incomplete or illegible documents may delay or invalidate your registration.
  • Preferred: A current school ID card showing your photo, full name, birthdate, grade, and school name.
  • Also accepted, if a school ID with the required details is not available:
    • A letter of enrollment issued by your school (on official letterhead or with a school stamp) listing your name, birthdate, and grade
    • A report card or transcript showing your name, birthdate, grade, and school name
    • A national ID, passport, or birth certificate showing your name and birthdate, submitted together with a separate school enrollment document confirming your grade and school name

Step 5: Payment

  • Complete your payment to finalize registration.
