Cheating and Plagiarism Policy

• Any participant found, or reasonably suspected, of cheating or plagiarism will have their participation nullified and will be banned from all future ILO opportunities. A finding of suspected cheating does not require certainty; sufficient and credible evidence of a violation is enough to trigger this policy.
• Cheating includes, but is not limited to: unauthorized assistance from any person or resource, use of unauthorized materials or devices, communication with others during the exam, and impersonation of another participant.
• Screenshots, screen recordings, photographs, or any other reproduction of exam content are strictly prohibited, whether taken during or after the exam. Any evidence of such reproduction, regardless of intent or distribution, will be treated as a violation of this policy.
• Determinations under this policy are made at the sole discretion of ILO organizers and are final.

Payment And Refund Policy

• All contest registration fees are final and will not be refunded under any circumstances. This applies regardless of contest outcome, disqualification, withdrawal, absence, or any dispute that may arise.
• By registering, participants acknowledge and accept this policy in full.

Technical Requirements

• The Preliminary Round exams are conducted online on the Testing Portal. Participants are responsible for bringing or otherwise having access to a laptop or desktop computer for the exam; tablets and mobile phones are not permitted as testing devices. ILO is not responsible for any information or features inaccessible from using devices not permitted.
• Some testing centers may provide a limited number of computers, but this cannot be guaranteed and participants should not rely on a testing center to supply a device. Participants who anticipate needing a device should contact the administrator well in advance of exam day.
• Access to power outlets at testing centers are not guaranteed and thus, participants should ensure that their devices are fully charged.
• Participants are responsible for ensuring their device is compatible with the Testing Portal and for testing their setup in advance of the exam day; utilizing the Practice Exam available on the Testing Portal after registration. Although not limited to, the Testing Portal is best compatible with Google Chrome, and participants should ensure a current version is installed.
• A stable internet connection is required at the testing location. Online participants should confirm access to reliable WiFi prior to exam day.
• ILO is not responsible for lost exam time, incomplete submissions, or disqualification resulting from device failure, insufficient battery, software incompatibility, or loss of internet connection during the exam.
• Participants experiencing technical issues during the exam must notify the proctor or issue a ticket on the ILO Discord server immediately. Time lost due to technical issues is not guaranteed to be made up.

Lateness and Absence Policy

• For in-person testing, the testing room door closes 10 minutes before the scheduled exam start time. Participants who arrive after the door closes will not be admitted.
• Absence from the exam, whether due to lateness, illness, no show, or any other reason, is scored as a zero and results in disqualification from that round.
• No refunds are issued for disqualification resulting from lateness or absence.

Communication Policy

• Email is ILO’s primary method of communicating with participants. Participants are responsible for regularly checking the email address provided at registration, including spam and junk folders, and for ensuring that messages from ILO are not filtered or blocked.
• ILO is not responsible for information that is sent but not received, including messages filtered as spam, blocked by email provider, or affected by an incorrect email address provided as registration.
• Inquiries to ILO take place only through three channels: ILO’s official Discord server, the Contact Form, and direct email to info@logicolympiad.org. Any communication through other means is not official and is not guaranteed a response.
• Participants are expected to respond to ILO communications in a timely manner where a response is requested. Failure to do so may affect a participant’s registration or eligibility.

Accuracy of Information

• Participants are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted during registration, including but not limited to name, birthdate, school, grade, and testing location, is true, current and accurate.
• Providing false, misleading, or incorrect information may result in disqualification, nullification of results, and forfeiture of eligibility for future ILO opportunities, at ILO’s sole discretion.

Student Enrollment Verification

• Participants must be able to provide valid proof of enrollment confirming their current student status and grade level, upon request.
• Failure to provide sufficient proof of enrollment may be treated as grounds for disqualification.

Age Eligibility and Outliers

• Participants must meet the applicable age requirement for their division by January 1st of the competition year.
• Participants who fall outside the standard age range for their grade, but whose enrolled grade otherwise meets the division’s eligibility requirements, must contact info@logicolympiad.org separately to request approval before registering. Registration without approval in these cases may result in disqualification.

Privacy And Data Collection Policy

• Participants’ personal information is collected solely for purposes of contest administration.
• No personal data will be sold or distributed to third parties.
• By entering the contest, participants consent to the use of their name and likeness for promotional purposes, during and after the contest, without additional compensation, unless prohibited by applicable law or the participant has opted out under this policy.
• Participants who prefer not to be photographed or recorded, for religious, personal, or any other reason, may opt out of photo and video capture by notifying ILO staff or their proctor before the start of the event.
• ILO will make reasonable efforts to honor opt out requests during official photography and videography. However, in large group settings, ILO cannot guarantee that an opted out participant will never appear incidentally in the background of a photo or recording.
• Opting out of photo and video capture does not affect a participant's eligibility to compete and does not exempt a participant from any other registration requirement.

Dispute Policy

• In the event of a dispute, participants agree to first attempt resolution by directly contacting the administrator at info@logicolympiad.org.
• Any legal disputes will be governed by the laws of the contest organizer's state and resolved in the appropriate court jurisdiction.

Legal Compliances

The contest complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including, but not limited to:

• ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), ensuring that no contestant is discriminated against based on disability.
• FTC Guidelines on promotions and contests, including clear and transparent rules about the contest, prizes, and entry requirements.

Modifications And Cancellations

• The contest organizers reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest for any reason, including unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters or technical difficulties.
• In the event of cancellation, no compensation will be provided beyond the prizes awarded before cancellation.

Acceptance Of Rules

• By participating in the contest, participants agree to abide by these policies and all decisions made by contest organizers or judges, which are final.
